
3 .1 Format of ads: "Decorate" your ads to success!
How do you want your ads? "Banners? "Skyscrapers? "Rectangles? Pictures? And as to the colors of the edges and bottom? The choices can be overwhelming. So many people prefer keep the default settings of Google. Big mistake! In my experience, I can say that means changing a hundred euros for one of ten. For almost a year I settled for just a tenth of what could have won simply for not wanting to bother with appearance and placement of my ads. There are thousands of combinations of formats, colors and placement of the ads on the website. One could spend hours every day trying every possible combination. But you do not like to, right? So, here are some basic rules with which the my clickthrough rates soared more profitable sites:
3 .2 Do not look like an ad!
Internet users will not reach your site for advertising. What they want is interesting content. If you highlight color ads, images or flashy rims, then easily be noticed that are advertisements. And this is not good because the Internet just strive to avoid them. The same applies to hidden ads above, below or in any corner of the page. It's so easy to ignore!
If you want visitors to click, you have to adjust ads that give the impression of being part of the content. Internet users today do not pay attention to banners, they annoy the pop-ups, ads and bored they are wary of the competitions or the gifts. So how can earn their trust? It's simple: that your ads appear not ads! Here are some choices that made up my clickthrough rates to incredible heights:
3 .3 Choose text ads instead of ads A text ad offers more
advantages than the ads:
A. With appropriate adjustments for the format, a text ad mix with the contents of your site. In contrast, an ad graphic will not let their appearance as much freedom as it All you can do is play with the size and placement.
B. You can put more text ads in the space occupy a traditional banner. And people love to choose.

The second best format is 300 x 250 - Medium Rectangle. This format is useful when you want to have two ad units each side by side. Small enough to fit on most pages. I also recommend the use of "wide skyscraper" (text ads exclusively) on the right side of the screen together with the triple harmony of which I discuss in chapter 4. If you think about it, almost all using PCs are skilled (even lefties like me who run the mouse with my right hand for so we were taught to use a mouse.) By putting ads in the margin reduces the distance right "psychological" between the right hand and the screen. In my opinion, the "proximity" makes the user feel comfortable and so more likely to click a link. You feel more in control of their visit. Do not hold the ad 468 x 60! One of the first things people do to join AdSense
is choose one ad 468 x 60. Big mistake. I respect my theory. It's the same theory that explains why the block 468 x 60 block does not get clicks. By placing ads on your site, most owners think that must choose the code that is more consistent with traditional Web advertising. And what is? Yes, the 468 x 60, the ubiquitous banner format all we know, adore and ... Ignore.
We all know the 468 x 60. And that is so low clickthrough achieved with this format, even among advertisers who use images on their banners. Block 468 x 60 screams "Hey! I'm an ad. Whatever you do, do not click! In fact, should move away from me once before! " Apart from a few special cases, I find that utterly ineffective ad 468 x 60 so I recommend that you ignore just as ignore their visitors.
