Do you know that there’s a simple trick you can do to increase your blog traffic from Google? It’s an SEO trick that is so simple that very few bloggers realized or taught.
If you are using Google Analytics to track your blog traffic, you’ll get lots of information about where your traffic comes from. If you don’t know Google Analytics, it is a very useful free tool to track your blog traffic and increase your Search Engine Traffic.
If your blog is around PR2 and have more than 50 blog posts, you’ll realized that you are getting 10-20 visitors everyday from keywords you aren’t even aiming to rank for. I call these traffic untargeted traffic from Google. When someone typed in a keyword that is not so popular and no one is ranking for, they will choose the webpages that has the most relevant content and rank them on the first few pages.
Your blog post probably is one of them. When people click on the link to your site, you get the traffic. Should you ignore all these “Luck-Based Traffic” or try to get more of them?
For me, I choose to go for it because 50% of my traffic of one of my blog came from some of these “Untargeted Keywords”. If I optimize that page, I could double or triple my traffic. So, I did a study and realized that these traffic are important because:
1. There are people search for it!
There are real people who are search for it, it means there’s a demand for that piece of knowledge. Publish a post for that will not just help that person, it helps blog readers who have the same question but didn’t get to ask. Your blog readers will thank you too.
2. If someone search it once, more people might search for it.
By ranking for this keyword, you will get some future traffic from Google. It has the potential to grow huge and popular too.
These keywords give me lots of Google Traffic to all my blogs everyday. So, I worked on a Strategy to Harvest these traffic effectively. And I’m going to share my Strategy with you here:
Step 1:
Read your Google Analytics keyword information. Read all of them and see which one is related to your blog topic. Copy and paste them on a word processor.
Step 2:
Use each of those keywords to write an article. The title must contain the keyword and repeat the keyword in your Article Body a couple times.
Step 3:
Make sure you have your permalink structure changed to “/%category%/%postname%”. Add Recent Post” in your widget and Install “All-in-one SEO Pack” plugin.
If you want to go further, you can create a link on your sidebar or footer that links to that post with your keyword.
Hope this post helps you in doubling your Google Traffic. Have fun and get ready for Christmas!
