FSTE 100 ends Monday up slightly, rising 0.13 per cent

The FTSE 100 got off to a steady start to the week on Monday, rising by 0.13 per cent.

At the close of play the London index stood at 5710.66 - a rise of 7.64 points.

Leading the gains through the day was Xstrata ended up 3.23 per cent Which to 1231.5 p.

Vodafone Group and Lonmin Also performed strongly, rising 3.03 per cent and 2.43 per cent respectively.

Cable and Wireless suffered the biggest Slump on Monday, sliding 4.68 per cent to 56p.

Burberry Group and Whitbread also in. by 2.58 per
cent and Fell 1.95 per cent.
